09/01/2008 Kea dies after eating chocolate The Dominion Post reports that a Kea died after eating a large amount of dark chocolate.

Chocolate contains theobromine and caffeine. Both are toxic to many animals, especially dogs, causing heart toxicity. Symptoms can often be delayed 24 to 48 hours.
