09/01/2008 Kiwi bitten by deadly snake A NZ man on holiday in Australia's Gold Coast was bitten by an Eastern Brown Snake.

Eastern Brown Snakes are one of the most poisonous snakes in the world. However, in Australia, they seldom cause death due to the prompt use of antivenom in most cases.

New Zealand is fortunate not to have any snakes at all, poisonous or non-poisonous.
