01/04/2008 Magnetic toys recalled Some magnetic toys made by Magtastik and MagnaMan have been withdrawn from sale, due to concerns children may swallow the small, detachable magnets.

If a single magnet is swallowed it can become lodged in a child's small gastrointestinal system, causing a blockage. If more than one magnet is ingested, they can create an electrical current and cause internal burns.

If you think your child may have swallowed a magnet, take them to a medical facility for an X-Ray and call your National Poisons Centre.
