24/04/2009 RSA Trio Poisoned Three people were admitted to hospital after drinking a poisonous chemical they thought was water from a jug at a Returned Serviceman Association (RSA) bar.

The jug contained beer line cleaner, usually concentrated sodium hydroxide, a strong alkali that can cause burns to the mouth, throat and stomach.

One patient has been discharged, another is stable, and the third remains in a serious condition.
