03/08/2009 Auckland Man Illegally Imports Tarantulas
An Auckland spider enthusiast has been fined for trying to import seven orange tarantulas from the Philippines.
Tarantula bites are not generally toxic, but the hairs on their bodies can cause reactions like swelling, rash and small blisters.
